2. Scissors (optional).
Don't worry if you don't have a square paper as I will show you how to turn a rectangular paper into a square one. Skip step 1 & 2 if you have a square paper.
Step 1
Fold the paper diagonally as show in the picture above.
Step 2
Use the edges as a guide to cut off the lower rectangle. You can save it for another project.
Now that you have a square paper, let start working.

Step 3
Fold the paper in half. Crease it and unfold the paper.
Step 4
Fold the paper diagonally and crease it. Repeat in the opposite direction and crease it again.
Step 5
Unfold the paper and make an airplane fold. Crease it but don't unfold it.
Step 6
Fold the paper again in half along the previous crease you made. Push in from the back and crease the edges as seen in the picture above. After you are done it will look like a parallelogram.
Step 7
Now crease all the folds again.
Step 8
Repeat the same process and make seven more.
Step 9
Now that you have eight (8) of those, number each one and make an arrow facing the closed front edge.
Step 10
Starting with 1, hold blade 1 and place the arrow side facing forward. Insert blade 2 arrow edge at the open back of blade 1.
Step 11
Fold in the remaining edge of blade 1 into the back of blade 2 like in the pic in step 10
Step 12
Now that you have successfully joined blade 1 and 2. Repeat the same process joining blade blade 2 to 3, 4-6 and so on. When Joining blade 8 to 1, you will notice that there is a wall at the center of blade blade 1. Fold in the edges into the two sides of the wall.
Step 13
After joining, you will have an octagon with eight sides. To transform it to a Ninja blade, hold the octagon and gently push in opposite sides together eg pushing in blade 1 and 5, 2 and 6 etc.
Now you have a star shaped Ninja blade. To reverse it to an octagon, pull out opposite sides.
